Frequently Asked Questions
At Blossom Park, we strive to help you and your child in every way that we can. Please check out some of our frequently asked questions to help you see how Blossom Park can help grow your child's academic success.
How would you describe your services?
Microschool: if you are homeschooling your children we can provide the components of academic instruction that are considered core learning, such as reading, writing, mathematics and relational language. This leaves you free to concentrate on other areas of growth such as science, social studies, civics, music, physical education, art, foreign languages, and whatever else your heart desires.
Single subject intervention: some children need advancement in just one subject and a single subject instruction is appropriate. If your child is already excelling in reading, for example, the mathematics track may be suitable, along with the relational language track to support the complexities of math concepts and problem solving. Other families choose to enroll a learner in single track instruction to provide enrichment opportunities to a child who is capable of moving beyond grade level work but who is not being challenged in their current instructional program.
Multiple subject intervention: some children require direct instruction in more than one academic subject. This level of service may be desired if the child is not attending a traditional school, either by choice or necessity. Other children have experienced school failure, even with an IEP, and need this level of remediation to ameliorate the effects of a disability.
Early learning skills: young learners often arrive in Kindergarden unprepared for the rigors of today's classrooms. Whether or not your child is currently attending a preschool, have them spend one hour each day at Blossom Park to develop good learning behaviors and mental flexibility. Early childhood education is a critical component of lifelong learning success.
My Child is struggling. Can Blossom park help?
Consultation with one of our Directors, followed by the completion of carefully designed assessment protocols, will determine if Precision Teaching is a good fit for your child.
We know it can be frustrating to navigate the complexities of special education regulations and so often a child who is struggling does not qualify for services under an IEP - in these cases Blossom Park can provide much needed instruction to supplement what the school is already doing, or provide instructional services when none are available at school.
Appropriate individualization is not always possible in today's overcrowded classrooms, and children who should be excelling are missing educational opportunities to advance their knowledge - Blossom Park can pinpoint and remediate the specific component skills that are preventing your child from flourishing in school.
Please make an appointment today and we can help you decide if our services will meet the needs of your child.
